So I started my new job last week. A full-time position in a two-year-old classroom at a daycare called Kidz World Academy. I was sad to leave my former daycare, Kidz Kastle, where I had the best boss I will ever have, but I am excited for this opportunity.
This class is nothing like I have ever done. It it the potty training class, mixed in with some simple curriculum. The first few days in there were kinda tough. Getting to know the kids, getting to know their personalities and their sleep schedule. They really weren't listening the first two days, but today, it was better and I think as they get to know me, it will get better. I am trying to figure out how to really teach them, as two year olds. Like what is at their level, what is too hard. This is something that I think I will just have to figure out as time goes by. I really hope that I can give these kids a stable environment to learn as they have had a lot of teachers come and go. It was tough the first two days also cuz I was getting a cold and was just exhausted, all congested and having to constantly blow my nose. But today my energy level was up and it went pretty well.
I just hope that I can be a good teacher and really help these kids not just to be potty trained but to learn some things as well.
Justin had his interview on Friday and it went alright. He hasn't heard back yet as they have to do a background check and such. I'm not super thrilled about it though, because even though he would be home, he would either get 2nd or 3rd shift and rarely have weekends off, plus it would be a huge paycut. The good things would be he would get lots of holidays, and wouldn't necessarily get the holiday off but would get a day off for it. There are also lots of opportunities for advancement after being there a year. I'm not sure what I really want at this point, but I guess we will see what happens.
